SPDC generates funding through contract research and other projects. Previously, SPDC was supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE). International Development Research Center, Canada (IDRC) has also provided funding under its Think Tank Initiative to support the core research workplan of SPDC in the past.
