Gender Inequality in Developing Countries: A Case Study of Pakistan

Persistent disparities between women and men in education, health, and economic participation continue to constrain Pakistan’s social and economic progress. Evidence shows that gender inequality not only limits productivity but also undermines broader development outcomes such as child survival, nutrition, and educational attainment. This SPDC study quantifies the extent of gender inequality in Pakistan, traces its trends over time, and examines the key determinants driving these disparities. By linking empirical analysis with policy implications, the report highlights how reducing inequality is essential for unlocking growth and advancing social development.
