Social and Economic Ranking of Districts of Pakistan

The study ranks Pakistan’s districts using 37 indicators across education, health, housing, agriculture, transport, and labor to assess social and economic progress. Findings show education, especially female literacy and enrollment, as the strongest driver of social development, while housing wealth, agricultural modernization, and transport shape economic outcomes. Punjab leads overall, followed by NWFP, Sindh, and Balochistan, though sharp intra‑provincial disparities remain. The least‑developed districts are identified as priorities for targeted development allocations under SAP.
